Only 7 "Ministry Spheres" are often referred to as "Spheres of Influence" We call them "Ministry Spheres of Influence" Ministry Spheres of Influence are those we are blessed to influence toward Christ through our life of service. 7 Ministry Spheres of Influence = 7 Mountains (same principle similar terms) If at the highest "Mountain" of each of the 7 Ministry Spheres of Influence was a God-Fearing, Bible-Believing, Yielded-to-Jesus-Hearted individual then one could say that all 7 Mountains were under the dominion (*authority) of Christ Jesus. The "7 Ministry Spheres of Influence" are the "7 Mountains" In 1975, two Christian leaders, Dr. Bill Bright and Loren Cunningham got together to give each other a message from God. To their amazement, each had the same message, independently given to them by God, to give to the other. Bill Bright was the founder of the world’s largest ministry (at that time), Campus Crusade for Christ, a worldwide ministry with 26,000 full-time employees and missionaries in 191 countries. Loren Cunningham was the founder of Youth With A Mission (YWAM), a ministry with 20,000 full-time staff of more than 150 nationalities (at that time). Both of these individuals brought the Gospel to millions around the world. However, God showed both of them that many areas of modern culture still needed the Gospel. The Lord showed them "seven major areas of society," or “7 Mountains” as they called them, which needed godly people to influence these area of society, thereby influencing untold millions who were engaged in those "7 Mountains" of society. About a month later, Francis Schaeffer, leader of L’Brai Fellowship, heard the same message from God about the "7 Mountains." These "7 Mountains " in the order of the greatest potential impact are: 1. Church, 2. Family, 3. Education, 4. Media, 5. Service, 6. Business, and 7. Arts and Athletics. If there are only "7 Mountains" why "49 Mountains?" 49 Mountains = 7 Mountains x 7 Regions The 7 Regions of the World Traveling the world to over 20 countries it became obvious that the "Influencer" in the West did not have the same influence in the East and vice versa. "49 Mountains" is a way of saying let God have all dominion (*authority ) in all 7 Mountains multiplied by the 7 Regions , or simply 49 Mountains symbolically representing all nations. *After Jesus' resurrection, Jesus states "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me" in Matthew 28:18 7 Mountains x 7 Regions = 49 Mountains The 7 Regions follow roughly the 7 Continents: 1. Asia, 2. Africa, 3. Europe, 4. Latin America, 5. North America, 6. Pacifica, and 7. Antarctica representing the least reached areas of the world. There are only 7 Mountains/Spheres of Influence. Yet, because each Continent has its own culture(s), language(s), and its own distinct characteristics, each Continent needs its own influencers on each of the 7 Mountains/Spheres of Influence to help fulfill Christ's Great Commission "disciple all the nations " from Matthew 28:18-20 (YLT Young's Literal Translation). It is vital to seek to disciple all nations , and not become complacent with a few "Mountains/Spheres of Influence" reached with the Salt and Light of Jesus, or to become complacent with a few discipled countries. Accreditation & FAQ Frequently Asked Questions Transferability of Coursework/Credits Existing and potential students often ask about our accreditation. What they often mean, however, is whether or not completion units are transferable. There is a difference with an entity that abides by a set of standards: i.e. accreditation, and the question relating to transferability of completed course work. Students from CLSTG Christian Life School of Theology Global affiliated schools (like 49 Mountains University) have successfully transferred completion units to many schools around the country, either by means of an assessment of prior learning or a specific articulation agreement. Every transfer, however, is at the full discretion of the receiving school. They decide if and how completion units will contribute to the goal(s) of their program. It is important to remember that our completion units represent theological training and ministerial preparation. Christian universities often have a required “Bible core” for all majors. Your completion units may transfer into that “core.” If you are thinking of possibly transferring your credit units to a Christian university anytime in the future, we advise you to follow recommended degree plans. The classes were carefully selected to give you much more freedom in transferability. What is Accreditation? Accreditation is the independent, third-party evaluation of a conformity assessment body against recognised standards, conveying formal demonstration of its impartiality and competence to carry out specific conformity assessment tasks. What are the two main types of accreditation? There are two main types of accreditation 1. Christian/Biblical Accreditation (Non-Government) Options, and 2. Government Accreditation Options. Both are designed to maintain standards of academic integrity among institutions of higher learning. This is an area for prayer and seeking God's wisdom for one's calling. The International Association of Bible Colleges and Seminaries (IABCS) accredits its member institutions by applying accepted practices and standards much like other professional peer review organizations. Evaluation of Ministerial Experience Ministerial experience completion units may be awarded to applicants, especially licensed and ordained ministers. Ministerial experience is recognized up to a maximum award of sixty (60) units for full-time ordained ministers and licensed ministers and thirty (30) units for lay leaders. Evaluation requests must specify whether ministerial work is full-time or part-time. Copies of licenses and/or ordination certificates must be submitted. A fee/unit will be charged. 49 Mountains University Beliefs & Core Values Our Beliefs The Bible is the inspired Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16) the written record of His supernatural revelation of Himself to mankind, absolute in it’s authority, complete in its revelation, final in its content, and without any errors in its teachings. All men in their natural state are lost, alienated from God, spiritually dead: “All have sinned, all fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Salvation is only by grace, a free gift of God through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, who died for our sins according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3). Those who thus receive Christ by faith have their sins forgiven (Ephesians 1:7), their hearts cleansed (Acts 15:9), are born of the Spirit, become children of God (John 1:12, 13), and are made new creatures in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). God is One God, Who reveals Himself in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ, as the Scriptures affirm, is the Son of God and Son of Man, was born of a virgin, and is Himself very God. The Scriptures also declare the deity and personality of the Holy Spirit. Our Lord Jesus Christ rose from the dead in the same body that was laid to rest in the tomb (John 20:25-27). The bodies of all believers who die will be raised from the dead, and they will receive an incorruptible body like unto the glorious body the Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:53; Philippians 3:21). All other men shall be raised unto “the resurrection of judgment” (John 5:28, 29). Christians, born of the Spirit, are to live the new life in the present power of the Spirit, “If we live by the Spirit, by the Spirit let us also walk” (Galatians 5:16-25; Colossians 2:6). The Christian’s responsibility, and his normal attitude of life, is to yield himself to God (Romans 6:13), trusting God to keep him. Faculty, students and member schools are expected, therefore, to conduct themselves in a manner in keeping with Christian honor, respect, and testimony. What degrees are offered by 49 Mountains University? All certificates, diplomas and degrees (Associate, Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate) are earned by taking courses and accumulating completion units. Please see our Student Handbook to see suggested degree programs. How long does it take to achieve a degree? It all depends on your schedule! Each course provides 10 hours of lecture, study guide, and exam. You can expect to invest a couple of hours two days a week to complete one course per month. This pace would keep you on track with a traditional education, for example: an Associate degree in two years, a Bachelor in four years, etc. You can, of course, go faster or slower depending on your situation. Can I earn CEU Continuing Education Units? A Continuing Education Unit (CEU) in higher education is awarded for 10 hours of instruction from a qualified faculty in a class that teaches specific skills. CEUs are the primary means for fulfilling “professional development” requirements. CLEN schools are already meeting those requirements in a variety of organizations.
